Do you remember those friendly welcoming people sitting behind the tables when you check in to vote on Election Day? That’s a Poll Worker - and next year, IT COULD BE YOU! Poll Workers are an essential part of democracy, but sadly, many areas are facing a shortage. Consider signing up to be a poll worker - not only will you help make sure voting goes smoothly in your community, but in many areas, Poll Workers are paid! Learn more here:
Run for Office!
There are over 500,000 elected offices across the US, and while many are high profile races at the federal level, there are hundreds of positions at the state, county, or local level that have a major impact on you and your neighbors. People often think that only career politicians or rich people are the ones who run for office, but lately, more and more everyday Americans from many different backgrounds have stepped up to serve - and why shouldn’t it be you? There are many different programs helping people learn more about why and how to run, including:

New Politics Academy - for alumni of national service programs (armed forces, AmeriCorps, etc)

Help Bridge the Ideological Divide!
The country feels more polarized than ever, and worse yet, people with differing views rarely even talk to each other. You can help change that! There are many organizations that bring together people from across the political spectrum for meaningful conversations to rebuild respect, trust, and connection across communities.
